NY 25 A1, 26 mm. Huge and highly detailed button featuring a regal version of New York’s State Seal. According to Tice, this die was made in France and used by Horstmann to make these rare buttons. He mentions one of these being excavated in Virginia, and here it is. Condition is flawless with no ground action at all and 98% bright gold plating. Truly impressive.
