Features a five-pointed star on a lined field surround by the motto \u201c<strong>SOUTHERN CONFEDERACY<\/strong>\u201c. No pushes, cracks, or repairs. Reverse has a blank back with two concentric lines. Intact shank. This button was recently acquired fron a Mississippi family and has not been cleaned or messed with since the surrender in 1865. This rare Confederate Navy Ship button looks fantastic with very strong details. You can see the stars surrounding the ship and it has a killer patina. I cannot tell if this is a non dug button, battlefield pickup or one that was dug or eyeballed decades ago and cleaned. It came from a very early non dug button collection that had many buttons from battlefields picked up shortly after the war by veterans and souvenir hunters.
