ART 4. U.S. 4.2" Type III Parrot Shell.
This superb shell was found in the cellar of an
old house in Fredericksburg, VA. and not doubt was
picked up as a souvenir shortly after one of the battles.
West Point type fuse adaptor unscrews and the brass
Sabot is completely intact with crisp rifling.
This is an end of the road 30lb. Parrott.

The iron on this shell is excellent, you can see the machining

Rare shell dumped from the Virginia II Ironclad near Trent's
Reach, VA. This may very well be the finest example known.
Bourellets are crisp with lathe marks and the rare Archer
percussion fuse and Sabot are removeable. This bad boy weighs
in at 123 lbs. Shop pick up or show delivery only.

I cannot emphasize how rare this projectile is,
especially in dropped condition. It measures approx.
7/8" in diameter and was dug near Columbia, SC.
More research is currently being done on this
unusual, huge bullet.

Nice fired example that is fully intact with great iron. Patent
info is partially legible on base. Sabot shows the rifling from
the 3" Ordnance gun it was fired from. Provenance unknown.

This one comes from a very old Antietam collection
and is in great untouched condition except for being
disarmed. The old tag on it is hard to make out but
it does have a rare brass side load plug and a
strong mold seam. Real good looking ball.

Check out the old tag on this large piece of Antietam
history. Another great relic in and of itself. We can
thank the earliest relic hunters for saving these
historical artifacts for posterity. The tag reads,
"Fragment of burst shell from near Dunkard
Church. Battlefield of Sharpsburg, MD."
